Geofencing has proven to be an effective solution for increasing employee accountability and productivity. Through the use of GPS tracking systems, business owners now have the ability to set up GPS geo-fence zones and perimeters for its mobile employees to adhere to while in route. Although the process sounds extremely complex, it is relatively simple. Before geo- fencing zones and perimeters can be established, a business owner must possess GPS technologies and geo-tracking systems for its employees which support geo-fencing, such as our vehicle tracking products
and RavTrack PC AVL software.
Once the business owner has possession of this technology, he or she must determine the type of GPS geo-fencing that best meets their needs. Three of the most common types of GPS geo-fencing that are utilized by business owners include: security type geofencing, timed entrance geo-fencing, and rolling geo-fencing. Security type geo-fencing will notify managers or business owners if an employee has exited the virtual zones and perimeters that they have established for employees. Timed entrance geo-fencing will notify all users if employees are approaching specified locations and target addresses within his or her established zones and perimeters. Rolling geo-fencing notifies all users if employees have traveled away from his or her established route.
After determining the type of GPS geo-fence that will be utilized by their employees, the business owner must establish the virtual zones and perimeters that will be adhered to. In order to complete this process, the zone grid coordinates for each employee need to be entered into the GPS geo-tracking system. Once this process is complete, the business owner will specify whether security type geo-fencing, timed entrance geo-fencing, or rolling geo-fencing should be applied.
Through its RavTrack products, Raveon Technologies offers business owners effective, yet simple GPS geo- fencing solutions. Not only are business owners able to track their employees through tracking GPS location but they can also easily establish alert rules, view alert prompts, and establish zones and perimeters with the click of their mouse. Unlike carrier-based GPS tracking solutions, Raveon Technologies utilizes private radio networks (CSI 1) to transmit GPS location. This allows users to track employees more quickly and frequently, experience the benefits of no monthly fees, and utilize the system in rural areas.
