GX GPS Transponders
If you use the M7 and need a GPS transponder, you can use the M21G GPS transponder and it can communicate with the M7.
The Raveon model M21 GX transponder is a rugged high-speed UHF and VHF GPS transponder with a built-in 12-channel GPS receiver. It has up to 5 watts of RF power output, and operates as both a GPS transponder for tracking, and a radio modem for sending and receiving data. The M22G miniature data radio also can do GPS Transponding.
Raveon’s GPS transponders automatically reports its status and position are user-configurable intervals and events. With an ultra-fast PLL and protocol, hundreds of M21 transponders in the same location can all report, with no interference or loss of data.
The M21 GX Transponder may be user-configured for a variety of applications. One simple command is used to program it to work in any of these configurations:
Transponder: | Will periodically transmit its location, along with voltage, temperature, input status, speed, direction, and UTC time. It powers-down the radio and GPS when not in use, reducing its average current draw to less than 30mA. |
GPS Display: | Will periodically transmit its location, along with voltage, temperature, input status, speed, direction, and UTC time. It will also receive the location of other M21 radios in its radio range for display on a GPS plotter or hand-held GPS connected to the M21 GX’s NMEA RS-232 interface. A Myriad of other IO features in this M21 transponder. |
RavTrack PC: | Will periodically transmit its location. It will also output the location of other RV-M21 Tech Series GPS radios in its radio range for display on the RavTrack PC software program. |
Plotter Display: | If you already have a GPS plotter, you may connect it to the RV-M21 with the –LX option. This gives the unit all the features of the –GX version with the GPS, but uses your GPS NMEA data feed as the source for its GPS signal. It will output the location of other M21 GX radios in its radio range for display on a GPS plotter or hand-held GPS connected to the RS-232, RS-485, or USB interface. |
Repeater: | Any M21 GX may also be a store-and-forward repeater. With a 3mS attack time, the repeated signal has only milliseconds of latency, and coverage can be 10s of miles. |
A GPS tracking system built with M21 GPS transceivers, can track up to 20 radios with one-second updates, 200 with 10-second update, or 2000 with a 100-second update rate. Is the fastest most efficient UHF AVL radio available. Seewww.ravtrack.com for more details on its GPS tracking and TDMA abilities.
