{"id":496,"date":"2010-11-29T18:38:34","date_gmt":"2010-11-29T18:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.raveontech.com\/data_radio_info\/?p=496"},"modified":"2010-11-29T18:51:01","modified_gmt":"2010-11-29T18:51:01","slug":"sleep-mode-1-in-the-m7-data-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.raveon.com\/data_radio_info\/sleep-mode-1-in-the-m7-data-radio-496\/","title":{"rendered":"Sleep Mode 1 in the M7 Data Radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the M7 radio, Sleep Mode 1 is enabled with the <strong>ATSM 1<\/strong>command.\u00a0 There also must be 3 components installed on the circuit board of the M7 radio to allow sleep mode 1 to work.\u00a0It is highly recommended that this modification be done at Raveon, or by very qualified technician skilled in\u00a0fine-pitch soldering.\u00a0 Damage to the M7 due to the installation of this modification by a customer is not covered under warranty.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When the three components are installed, the DTR line on the RS232 serial port may be used to turn the M7 data radio on and off.\u00a0 The three components are R43, C21, and R12.\u00a0 R43 should be a 1K 0603 resistor.\u00a0 R12 should be a 10K 0603 resistor, and C21 should be a 680pF 0603 ceramic capacitor, 50V rated.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<div id=\"attachment_497\" style=\"width: 612px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raveontech.com\/data_radio_info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/SleepMode1.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-497\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-497\" title=\"I\/O Circuit\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raveontech.com\/data_radio_info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/SleepMode1.jpg\" alt=\"I\/O Circuit\" width=\"602\" height=\"415\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-497\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">M7 I\/O Circuit Schematic<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>To access the three components, the main\u00a0circuit board in the M7 must\u00a0be carefully removed.\u00a0 Remove the 4 screws securing the front pannel, the two screws on the side\u00a0and the four\u00a0screws that hold the back panel on.\u00a0 Then removed the one screw on the bottom of the unit that secures the voltage regulator.\u00a0 Slide the PCA out of the enclosure.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The location of the three components on the printed circuit board is shown below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raveontech.com\/data_radio_info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/SleepMode1pcb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-499\" title=\"SleepMode1pcb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raveontech.com\/data_radio_info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/SleepMode1pcb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"641\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once these components are installed, the DTR input will control the power supply of the M7 radio.
